Working with Dr Darcelle Schouw has been a genuinely transformative part of my health journey. What I value most is not only her professional guidance and evidence-based support, but the permission it gives me to prioritise myself and fill my own cup where it really counts.

MY SURVIVAL JOURNEY • DR DARCE

From JOY, through VOK, and back to hope.

At the beginning of my cancer journey, I held tightly to one little word: JOY. Three letters. A reminder to stay hopeful. A choice to look for light, even as I stepped into the uncertainty of chemotherapy.

But cancer has a way of changing the language you thought you understood. Very quickly, JOY became VOK. VOK I didn’t understand. VOK this was hard. VOK I was afraid.

And yet, woven through those difficult moments were flickers of JOY — the hand that reached for mine, the message that arrived at exactly the right moment, the laughter in the middle of an impossible day, the people who stayed.

Today, I stand not simply as a survivor, but as someone transformed by the journey. I celebrate those who continue to thrive. I remember those we have lost. And I carry their resilience with me.

So I honour every warrior — those beginning their journey, those in the middle of the fight, those finding their way beyond treatment, and those whose stories live on in all of us.

Stories That Live On.

We honour the beautiful souls who are no longer with us physically, but whose stories continue to inspire every step we take. Their courage, laughter and love live on in the lives they touched.

Fuzlin
FUZZ SINCLAIR

Fuzlin

Who fought the bravest fight and loved Nashah, her son, with her life. Fuzz reminds us to “Dala What You Must” to get well.

Fuzlin was a woman of quiet strength, deep love and unwavering devotion to those closest to her. The youngest in her family, she stood out as a natural protector — steady, reliable and always there when it mattered most.

She will be remembered for her gentle strength, her love for making things beautiful, her generous heart and the lasting legacy she leaves behind. We miss you, sis. #4eva45 🌸

A LIFE OF STRENGTH & JOY

Maria

A vibrant soul who taught us what it means to live fully. A mother, teacher and friend who inspired others with her unstoppable joy and determination.

Maria da Graça was an incredible mother, wife and human being — a true warrior for her children, siblings, parents and everyone around her. Even in her final days, she was still thinking of others and trying to solve problems.

Her family remembers her as their fighter and their general: kind, joyful and warm despite the burdens she carried. She loved dancing, organising events and spending time with the people she loved. Her name will always represent strength, resilience and sacrifice.
